Editorial Policy
Operated by The Renegade US Inc, doing business as Renegade Enterprises · Last reviewed: April 17, 2026.
Renegade Enterprises (renegadeinc.org) is a global entertainment news aggregator. We do not produce original reporting on the homepage — every headline you see is a curated link to a named journalist at a named outlet such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, BBC, The Guardian or one of 30+ other publishers. This page explains how we select those stories, how we verify them, how we credit rights holders, how we handle corrections, and how you can reach us. It is public, it is binding on our editorial team, and it is the document we expect Google News, Bing News, Apple News and our rights-holder counterparts to hold us to.
1. Sourcing & Outlet Selection
Our aggregator ingests RSS, Atom and structured JSON feeds from a curated list of entertainment publishers. An outlet is added to that list only if it meets all of the following:
- The outlet has an established, named editorial team with publicly accountable bylines;
- It publishes a public corrections policy or equivalent editorial standards document;
- It is recognised within its market as a professional news organisation (Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, BBC, The Guardian, El País, Le Monde, Corriere della Sera, Asahi Shimbun, etc.);
- It provides either an official feed or a machine-readable interface that includes canonical URLs back to the original article.
We do not aggregate from user-generated content sites, content farms, pay-to-publish networks or anonymous blogs. Outlets that repeatedly surface content which fails our verification checks (below) are removed from the ingest list.
2. Ranking & Story Selection
Stories are ranked by a combination of signals — recency (how fresh the publish timestamp is), reach (how many of our ingested outlets have covered the same event), and topical relevance to music, film, television, culture and entertainment. We also cluster headlines that are reporting on the same underlying event across outlets, so the homepage reflects the breadth of coverage rather than the repetition of it. Ranking is algorithmic; there is no paid tier and no advertiser can purchase placement on the news feed.
3. Verification & Fact-Checking
Because our role is aggregation and not origination, our fact-checking obligation is specific: we verify the link, not the underlying reporting. Every story surfaced on renegadeinc.org must:
- Link canonically to the original article at the original publisher;
- Credit the publisher by name in the same visual surface as the headline;
- Preserve the publisher's photograph with a visible photo credit;
- Pass automated deduplication so the same story does not surface twice under different titles.
If we learn that a linked article was retracted, corrected materially, or removed by its original publisher, we remove the aggregated entry from our feed within one business day of becoming aware.
4. Corrections Policy
When an error appears on renegadeinc.org — a mis-attributed source, a wrong thumbnail, a broken canonical link, a stale headline — we correct it promptly and transparently. Report a correction by emailing editorial@renegadeinc.org. We commit to:
- Acknowledging the report within two business days;
- Correcting verified errors in the live feed as soon as practicable;
- Recording the correction in a change log maintained by the editorial team;
- Where the underlying error originated at the publisher, pointing the reporter to the publisher's corrections channel.
5. Copyright, Rights Holders & DMCA
Renegade Enterprises does not claim rights, licences or ownership over aggregated content. Headlines, excerpts and photographs remain the property of their respective publishers. We operate under US fair-use principles for short quotation, thumbnail display and editorial commentary, and we honour all valid takedown requests. Rights holders can submit a request through the DMCA modal on the homepage or by emailing DMCA@renegadeinc.org. Full details are in our DMCA Policy. We respond within 1–2 business days.
6. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Entertainment is a global industry and our aggregator is built to reflect that. We intentionally ingest outlets from multiple regions and languages — US, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Japan, China, Poland and more — so that readers see coverage that isn't limited to a single market or perspective. Our editorial team is instructed to rotate regional surfacing on slow news days so that non-US stories are not systematically deprioritised. Our eight-language interface (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Polish) is part of that same commitment.
7. Editorial Ethics & Commercial Firewall
Renegade Enterprises also operates a commercial music services business — distribution, editorial outreach, viralization, marketing and technology — under the same brand. Those businesses are commercially and editorially separate from the aggregator:
- No advertiser, client or partner can purchase placement, higher ranking, or removal on the news feed;
- Editorial outreach campaigns we run for music clients do not guarantee publisher pick-up and do not affect what stories we aggregate from those publishers;
- Our team members disclose material financial relationships before editing or flagging stories that touch those relationships.
8. Use of Artificial Intelligence
We use machine systems for ingestion, deduplication, ranking, translation of UI copy and language detection. We do not generate the news articles we display — every headline on the homepage links out to a human-reported article at a named publisher. When we translate interface elements, translations are reviewed by a human before they ship. We will label any future experiment with AI-assisted editorial summaries clearly and separately from aggregated publisher content.
9. Feedback & Appeals
If you believe a story was unfairly surfaced, wrongly credited, or should not have appeared on our feed — or if you want to appeal a takedown decision — email editorial@renegadeinc.org with the URL of the article and a short explanation. Appeals are reviewed by a member of the editorial team who did not make the original decision.
10. Masthead & Governance
Renegade Enterprises is operated by The Renegade US Inc, a United States corporation. The editorial function reports to the company's editorial leadership; commercial operations (distribution, press services, technology) report separately. See our About Us page for ownership, funding and contact detail.
11. Updates to This Policy
We review this policy at least annually and whenever a material change to our practice requires it. The "last reviewed" date at the top of this page is the single source of truth for currency. Substantive changes are announced in our public change log and, where appropriate, mirrored on our About Us page.
